MIAMI, FLORIDA (USA). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine invites applicants with an M.D. or D.O. degree to apply for a full-time academic oriented Associate Professor or Professor Faculty position to be Director of the Subspecialty of Dermatopathology. Academic rank, compensation, and appointment type will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The applicant should have board certification in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology. The candidate should be accomplished in providing excellent diagnostic service, possess strong communication skills, committed to teaching and training of residents, fellows, and medical students, mentoring faculty, and have a strong record of participation in peer reviewed clinical and translational research. The position is constructed as Dermatopathology/subspecialty surgical pathology (Gyn, Cyto, Pulmonary, Head and Neck, GU, and Bone and Soft Tissue pathology). Responsibilities for the position are with the University of Miami network of hospitals and clinics (UHealth), Sylvester Cancer Center, and the flagship county hospital of Miami-Dade County, Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dermatopathology is an important member of the multidisciplinary Site Disease Group of UHealth and our medical oncologists and surgical oncologists are world class. The Dermatopathology service is responsible for many tissue biopsy and resection specimens and utilizes fluorescent microscopy and a wide variety of molecular and cytogenetic testing related to diagnosing cutaneous neoplasms and other diseases. The spectrum of pathology is remarkable and challenging.   There is great potential to expand the service, develop a fellowship program, and increase outreach that is rewarding to the individual, department, and institution.  Opportunities to collaborate with funded researchers are numerous.
